The Chamber lobbies the various levels of government to promote and protect the interests of business. It plays a major role in promoting the development of Johannesburg as the economic hub of the African continent. Members support this endeavour through their membership fees, and they participate and provide input for the lobby through various interest-group commissions. The Chamber has an office in Midrand to assist members with Certificates of Origin, and sub-committees in Midrand and Sandton to represent the interests of members in these areas.
In business it’s who you know that counts - the Chamber organises functions to help you expand your network and generate new business.
Direct your company message to specific sections of the Chamber membership - the Chamber database is available on mailing labels or electronic disk. Maximise the impact of your advertisement on the Chamber website or the monthly electronic newsletter, Going Concerns, by positioning it in specific areas. The website is visited by local and international companies looking for contacts/products/services in South Africa.
